Join Big White Ski Resort as a Full-Time Avalanche Technician to ensure safety through expert hazard assessment and avalanche control. Your skills in snow science are vital for operations.

This seasonal position involves closely monitoring snowpack conditions and conducting thorough avalanche assessments. You will play a critical role in executing mitigation strategies that guarantee protected skiing for all. Collaborate with various teams to refine the resort's Snow Safety Program and respond effectively to changing mountain conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor snow and weather conditions through fieldwork
• Perform thorough snow stability tests and evaluations
• Lead avalanche control efforts with proper techniques




• Prepare and disseminate daily avalanche forecasts
• Maintain records of control activities and observations

Requirements:
• CAA ITP 1 or working towards it
• Current Occupational First Aid Level 3 certification
• Valid PAL or ability to obtain
• Strong skiing/snowboarding skills in challenging terrains
• Experience in avalanche hazard assessments
