Play a vital role as a Municipal Utility Locator with the City of Markham, assisting in essential water distribution and sewage maintenance services. This temporary full time position supports local infrastructure through routine utility locate services.

You will report directly to the Waterworks Supervisor, performing duties essential for maintaining the municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. Your main focus will be on utility locate services for both residential and commercial sectors, utilizing advanced electromagnetic equipment to identify underground infrastructure. In addition to utility locating, you’ll provide critical customer service and assist in field repairs or maintenance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct utility locating for emergency and regular requests




• Operate electromagnetic locating equipment efficiently
• Create digital sketches of marked infrastructure
• Perform routine waterworks maintenance tasks
• Assist with shop duties related to equipment and facilities

Requirements:
• High school diploma required
• Completion of Damage Prevention Technician Program
• Valid Class G driver's licence; DZ preferred
• 1-3 years of utility locating experience
• Ability to lift heavy weights and work outdoors
