Become a Post-Majority Support Worker with Sheshegwaning First Nation, focusing on providing strengths-based support to young adults. Help them transition from care with education and cultural engagement.
This full time role targets young adults aged 18 to 29, requiring you to deliver coaching on budgeting, time management, and career readiness. You will aid in applying for secondary and post-secondary opportunities, as well as fostering participation in traditional teachings. Your efforts will ensure youth receive the support necessary for securing stable housing and developing individualized plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide budgeting and financial literacy education
• Assist with educational and training applications
• Promote cultural activities and traditional teachings
• Support youth in finding safe housing
• Develop tailored support plans for individuals
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Social Services or related fields
• At least two years of experience with young adults
• Knowledge of child welfare systems preferred
• Valid “G” Class driver’s license necessary
• Willingness to work evenings or overtime as needed
Support young individuals in their journey to independence while honoring their cultural background.
