We are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker for our Long Term Care program. Work collaboratively to provide essential support to residents aged 18+ with complex mental health needs.
As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate with professionals such as the Resident Care Manager, Social Worker, and Occupational Therapist. Your role focuses on providing behavior and symptom support using a strength-based approach. You will foster overall well-being and assist residents in developing valuable skills for social integration and community living.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team for comprehensive care
• Provide behavior support to residents with mental health challenges
• Promote residents’ recovery and community integration
• Build rapport to aid residents’ skill development
• Report any unsafe behaviors to maintain a secure environment
Requirements:
• Diploma/Certificate in Community/Mental Health or equivalent
• Passionate about serving seniors with care and compassion
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Competence in facilitating residents’ problem-solving abilities
• Dedicated to a person-centered care approach
