This permanent position, located in Gatineau, QC, seeks an individual with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mineralogy and at least three years of relevant experience in museum settings. You will manage various mineral specimens while supporting digitization initiatives. Engaging with the mineralogical community and advising on specimen acquisitions is key to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee mineral, gem, and meteorite collections effectively
• Manage and improve digital specimen data
• Provide guidance and expertise on mineral collections
• Support public outreach and educational projects
• Mentor and train interns and students in collection care
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree focused on Mineralogy
• 3+ years’ experience with mineral collections
• Proficient in data management and collection systems
• Robust English language skills; bilingualism is advantageous
• Understanding of museum protocols and safety measures
