IWK Health is seeking a dedicated Anaesthesia Assistant for a full time role in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Collaborate within the perioperative team, contributing to excellent patient care.

As an Anaesthesia Assistant, you will directly support the Anaesthesiologist and provide critical assistance throughout various surgical scenarios. The role involves monitoring patients and preparing for complex intubations and emergencies. Candidates must possess a degree in Respiratory Therapy or Nursing and at least three years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support Anaesthesiologist in all aspects of anesthesia
• Monitor patient conditions throughout surgeries
• Prepare for various anesthesia-related procedures




• Train peers on technological advancements
• Work within Gynecology and Birth Unit settings

Requirements:
• Diploma/Degree in recognized Respiratory Therapy or Nursing
• 3+ years of relevant experience as Anaesthesia Assistant
• Registration eligibility with appropriate Nova Scotia board
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Ability to demonstrate technical competence
