Job Description
CEDA has an immediate opening for an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic for our shop in Conklin AB.

We're a small team, you'll get to know the people as well as you know the equipment.

The variety of interesting equipment with specialty components combined with the tools needed to do great work are a few reasons our shop team loves working here.

14x14 shift with 12-hour days

Variety of equipment to work on:



from skid steers to T&E; Pumps on pressure and vacuum equipment (Cummins, Paccar, and loaders too!)

Camp provided

Safetyis number 1: we watch out for one another and pride ourselves in doing the work right the first time

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Preventative maintenance on Vacuum trucks, Combos, Water Trucks, Tankers, Skid-steers and Pressure Trucks

Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps

Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts

Occasionally attend service calls in the field

Work alongside Journeyman to learn and develop your skills

Attend daily tool-box and safety meetings as scheduled

Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications:

RegisteredApprentice Heavy Equipment Technician or higher required

Valid class 5 Driver’s licence required (non GDL) clean 5 year abstract

Class 1 or 3 licence considered an asset

Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset

Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Able to provide your own tools

Skills:

You're happiest working in a team and getting the job done safely, as well as working independently on various projects in the shop

You're eager to learn and thrive in a busy shop workplace
