Join Indigenous Justice Centres as a Support Worker in Chilliwack, BC, providing essential support to Indigenous clients. Focus on culturally competent, trauma-informed practices while delivering vital resource access.
This fixed-term, full-time role revolves around assisting clients with community services, referrals, and case management under the guidance of the Legal Supports Supervisor. Your efforts will facilitate healing pathways and secure solid connections within the community. Successful candidates will demonstrate empathy and effective communication, ensuring clients feel fully supported.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support legal strategies with the Client Service Team • Connect clients to community resources and food security • Complete essential documentation with clients’ assistance • Engage with local Indigenous communities and organizations • Maintain up-to-date resource binders for client reference
Requirements: • Experience (1-4 years) in an Indigenous context • Minimum 3 years in social or community work • Knowledge of provincial support services for Indigenous peoples • Proficiency with basic software tools • BC Driver’s License and valid background check required
