Join Burlington Hydro as a Substation Electrician, focusing on installation, maintenance, and testing of critical equipment in our community. This in office role is perfect for both journeypersons and apprentices.

You will report to the Supervisor of Station Maintenance, playing a vital role in the upkeep of substation infrastructure. Responsibilities include cable testing, fault locating, and transformer maintenance, all compliant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Apprentices will advance as they gain experience, learning from qualified team members while working towards certification.

Key Responsibilities:
• Install and maintain substation equipment
• Conduct electrical and mechanical tests on systems
• Perform routine inspections of equipment




• Investigate and troubleshoot faults in substation systems
• Collect and maintain accurate data records

Requirements:
• Electrical Engineering Technology diploma
• MEARIE Substation Electrician certification or ability to complete it
• Valid G Class Ontario driver’s license
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience with AutoCAD is an asset
