Reporting to the Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting, you will spearhead complex accounting responsibilities while ensuring the integrity of the general ledger. Your role will include collaboration across departments and contributing to crucial financial statement activities and audits, supporting service enhancements, and fostering compliance with municipal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead preparation of annual Financial Information Returns
• Facilitate the external audit process with detailed documentation
• Execute month-end close procedures, including adjustments
• Review account reconciliations with timely resolution of issues
• Prepare Staff Reports and By-laws for financial activities
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Three years’ finance experience, ideally within municipal operations
• CPA certification is essential
• Robust grasp of financial reporting and internal controls
• Proficiency in Corporate IT for financial reconciliation
