Senior Roofing Consultant / Building Envelope Project Manager

Lead Landmark Roofing & Building Envelope Projects An established and highly respected multidisciplinary consulting organization is seeking a Senior Roofing Consultant /
Project Envelope Manager to join its growing Building Science and Restoration practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced roofing professional to take a leadership role on large-scale, technically challenging projects across the commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-residential sectors.

The successful candidate will manage projects from initial assessment and design through tendering, construction administration, and project close-out, while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and mentoring the next generation of industry professionals.
What You'll Do Roofing Assessments, Investigations & Asset Management Lead comprehensive roof condition assessments, evaluations, and forensic investigations.
Analyze roof performance, deterioration mechanisms, failure modes, and remaining service life.
Develop detailed technical reports, recommendations, and long-range capital planning strategies.
Prepare lifecycle analyses and multi-year roofing asset management plans.
Deliver cost estimates for rehabilitation, restoration, and replacement initiatives.
Design, Specifications & Project Planning Design and specify replacement and restoration solutions for a wide range of roofing systems, including: Modified Bitumen
SBS and APP Systems
Built-Up Roofing (BUR)
EPDM
TPO
PVC
IRMA/PMR Systems
Metal Roofing
Green Roofing Systems

Prepare technical specifications, contract documents, tender packages, and construction drawings.
Evaluate building code compliance, manufacturer requirements, and warranty provisions.
Develop practical, cost-effective solutions that maximize long-term building performance.




Tendering & Construction Administration Lead projects through procurement, tendering, and construction phases.
Coordinate with owners, consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and project stakeholders.
Review bids and provide technical evaluations and recommendations.
Conduct field reviews and construction monitoring to ensure quality, compliance, and performance.
Review shop drawings, submittals, warranties, payment applications, and change orders.
Perform project close-out inspections and oversee resolution of deficiencies.
Client Leadership & Business Development Serve as the primary technical advisor and trusted partner for clients throughout project delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with property managers, condominium corporations, institutional organizations, and commercial building owners.
Collaborate with contractors, manufacturers, testing laboratories, and industry specialists.
Support proposal development, strategic growth initiatives, and client engagement activities.
Represent the organization within the building science and roofing community.
Mentorship & Technical Leadership Provide guidance, coaching, and technical mentorship to junior consultants and project team members.
Review reports, specifications, designs, and technical deliverables.
Contribute to quality assurance initiatives and technical excellence programs.
Help shape best practices and drive continuous improvement across the roofing consulting practice.
What You'll Bring 10+ years of progressive experience in roofing consulting, building science, roofing construction, building envelope consulting, or a related field.
Demonstrated success managing roofing projects from assessment through construction completion.
Extensive knowledge of roofing, waterproofing, and building envelope systems.
Strong understanding of applicable building codes, roofing standards, manufacturer requirements, and health and safety regulations.
Experience preparing technical reports,



specifications, drawings, and tender documentation.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Valid Ontario driver's licence and willingness to travel for project-related work.
Preferred Qualifications Registered Roof Observer (RRO), Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Building Science Specialist (BSS), or eligibility to obtain one of these designations.
Membership with relevant professional roofing, building enclosure, or building science organizations.
Working at Heights certification.
Infrared Thermography certification.
