Become a vital part of the Region of Durham as a Recreation Programmer at Fairview Lodge in Whitby, Ontario. Focus on developing and implementing recreational programs that inspire engagement and reflect our residents' diverse backgrounds.

As part of our team, you will lead both individual and group programs designed to enhance the quality of life for our residents in the Long-Term Care home. This position emphasizes a team-oriented approach with various disciplines, supporting overall resident care through meaningful leisure activities tailored to individual preferences. Evening and weekend work will enhance program delivery effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create and implement diverse recreational programs
• Facilitate group and individual resident activities




• Collaborate with teams to promote holistic resident care
• Engage in assessments and program evaluations
• Assist with the planning of special events and community partnerships

Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Therapeutic Recreation or similar
• Valid Food Handler's certification obtained recently
• Preferred experience in Long-Term Care or Adult Day Programs
• High-level interpersonal skills focused on resident engagement
• Capability to assist residents physically during activities
