Make a difference in the community as a Counsellor for Substance Use Recovery at The Salvation Army. Focus on individual counselling, group facilitation, and participant support in this dynamic role.
This position is designed for candidates passionate about addiction recovery. You will deliver personalized counselling, engage in group sessions, and assist participants with navigating recovery services. Your efforts will directly contribute to the well-being and stability of individuals in need.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage in one-on-one counselling using best practices
• Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions
• Provide support during participants' life challenges
• Collaborate with case workers for holistic care
• Build partnerships with local health and recovery organizations
Requirements:
• Diploma in a counselling discipline or equivalent
• At least two years of experience in a related role
• Certifications in Naloxone Training and Mental Health First Aid
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles
• Explicit Criminal Record Review for working with vulnerable adults
