the company specializes in high-precision machining of helicopter masts, turbine shafts, engine thrust links, and nuclear pressure vessel components used in the aerospace and nuclear industries worldwide. the company’s 120,000 sq. ft. facility is located at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto. Our dedicated team prides themselves on delivering the highest quality products, to specifications and on time. the company is currently seeking an experienced CMM Programmer.

The role of the CMM Programmer is to generate, verify, document and issue Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs. Inclusive of this is the standardization and optimization of the program, the generation of documentation such as set up instructions, training other inspection operators and applying best practice programming and inspection techniques.

The role includes the operation of CMM and the completion of advanced manual inspections with a wide variety of tooling and gauging (Micrometers, calipers, shadow graphs, mold impressions, digital height gauges etc.). The job will involve carrying out CMM Inspection and Manual Inspection of complex machined parts used in the Aerospace and Nuclear industries.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate standardized, efficient inspection programs for NWI CMM’s and all programmable inspection equipment.
Maintain the NWI CMM Program Procedure activities such as revision control of programs, verification of CMM program outputs, approving and issuing programs to production.
Programs will be created for both in-process and final inspection requirements, and at times where further programming is required.
Participate with engineering in the inspection control planning for parts, including recommending manual and non-CMM inspection.
Lead First Article Inspection processes, data collection and archiving of data




Participate in researching evolving inspection technologies to upgrade or compliment CMM Inspection
Participate in data collection, both CMM generated and from other inspection devices.
Review blueprints and specifications to establish inspection criteria that adheres to the Quality Assurance Manual.
Establish best practices while meeting customer specific requirements.
Create programs offline from part models.
Be the subject matter expert on First Article Inspection activities
Liaise with maintenance and vendor partners in ensuring CMM inspection equipment and accessories are calibrated and maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Grade 12 minimum, prefer post secondary certificate in a related field
On the job training certification an asset

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
Must have 5+ years direct experience inspecting machined parts with tight tolerances
Must have 5+ years experience in CMM Programming and familiarity in gear and spline programming
Familiarity with PC DMIS and Calypso CMM Software
Strong knowledge of close tolerance machining processes
Strong skills in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Statistics and Data Analysis
Capability in working with manual inspection tools
Experience required in configuration control, MS Office Excel, and set-up documentation
Experience in performing Measurement System Analysis and Statistical Process Control an asset
A working knowledge of AS 9100 and ISO 9001: 2008, CSA Z299 will be necessary.
Be familiar with ISO9102,



AS9103 and AS13003.
Must be able to work in Canada and a current resident of Canada
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Able to work under pressure
Ability to select tools, read blueprints, specifications, manuals and work procedures
Willingness to work overtime hours when required including weekends
A working knowledge of AS 9100 and ISO 9001: 2008, CSA Z299 will be necessary.

Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to read, interpret and create sketches and drawings.
Proficient in MS Office suite
Objective and time driven work ethic
Detail orientated, particularly in record keeping and data management
Analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills and ability to interpret data.
Able to work under pressure.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
