Take on a vital role as a Supportive Housing Specialist with Good Shepherd's Dorothy Day Place, impacting lives with dignity and respect. This position includes a commitment to trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practices.
As a temporary full-time specialist, you will work from Tuesday to Saturday in varied shifts, providing essential services to cis women, trans, and non-binary individuals. Your work will revolve around creating individualized plans for safety and community integration while adhering to commitment towards cultural safety and harm reduction principles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with participants to ensure individualized care
• Offer education and counseling on mental health issues
• Attend and contribute to care planning meetings
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for clients
• Participate in health and safety programs
Requirements:
• 1 year experience in social service settings
• Familiarity with anti-racism and anti-oppression frameworks
• Knowledge of local housing issues and resources
• Willingness to obtain CPR certification
• Valid Ontario Driver's License (G2) preferred
