As a Recreation Therapist, you will harness your creative skills to design and evaluate activities that promote healing and well-being for women battling trauma and substance dependence. Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, you'll assess client needs and encourage participation in recovery-oriented recreational activities. Your contribution is crucial in ensuring a secure and supportive environment for all clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and assess therapeutic recreation initiatives
• Observe and document client interactions and outcomes
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and patient discussions
• Coordinate recreational outings and provide transport
• Maintain equipment and uphold department safety standards
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation required
• Eligible for BCTRA and CTRA membership
• Minimum of two years’ relevant experience
• Valid Class IV B.C. Driver’s Licence
• Current C.P.R. Certificate
