Continuing Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Graduation and Career Coach

Horizon School Division is accepting applications for a Full-Time Graduation and Career Coach. Our Graduation and Career Coaches work closely with the Superintendent of Indigenous Education and in-school administrators to provide our schools with services designed to support our students in their transition through school, and into their chosen post-secondary pathways. Through their work in schools, and with students and families, our Graduation and Career Coaches promote our school division's strategic goals by collaborating with in-school administrators to provide our students with the necessary supports to achieve success in their post-secondary endeavors.

Qualifications:

- Saskatchewan Professional �A' Teaching Certificate, or willingness to acquire;
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching and/or career counselling experience
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of our Ministry of Education's goals and initiatives as they pertain to improving Graduation Rates and Career Counselling for all students
- Knowledge of effective practices in educational leadership relating to improving Graduation Rates and Career Counselling Supports for all students
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of Saskatchewan's curricula and our Ministry of Education's current curricular initiatives
- Proficient in the use of technology including computers, G Suite Apps & Collaboration Tools, video conferencing, and additional career counselling software currently used in the school division
- Proficient in working with students and their families in supporting scholarship and post-secondary applications for employment or continued education
- Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities:

- Provide direct support to school personnel responsible for overseeing Apprenticeship Courses, Special Credit Projects,



Youth Apprenticeship, MyBluePrint Career Planning, and CWEX.
- Assist school personnel in establishing apprenticeship programs in local communities
- Make connections with, recruit and support business owners and journeyman practitioners in participating in CWEX and Apprenticeship
- Develop and deliver career development awareness sessions for administrators and division office staff.
- Develop evaluation tools for employers, students and staff to support career experiences
- Develop manuals, processes or procedures for all forms of career experience opportunities
- Participate in system-wide directions and be part of advisory groups as required.
- Assist with career development needs of teachers within the school division and arrange for appropriate sessions at system-wide Professional Development days.
- Using best practices provide leadership in improving the effectiveness of the career development program for the school and school division.
- Develop, coordinate, and evaluate the career development services on a high school campus
- Maintain open and ongoing communication with relevant outside agencies, businesses, journeyman
- Coordinate career development opportunities
- Work collaboratively with other departments or agencies to maximize career opportunities for students
- Develop and maintain the school division career development administrative procedures
- Use student and school data to guide the development of and changes to the career development action plan
