You'll provide both strategic architecture leadership and hands‐on technical guidance across complex enterprise initiatives.About the jobThe Infrastructure Technology and Operations Division (ITOD), Telecommunications Services Branch within GovTechON, is seeking aSenior I&IT Architect to providearchitecture leadership across network security and campus networking. The organization currently operates using a managed service model in which service providers build and operate solutions. Architects set architectural direction, define standards, and provide integration guidance, while remaining hands‐on as needed to support new capabilities, architectural evaluations, solution integration, and high‐impact initiatives. You will work closely with service providers, internal teams, and ministries to designsecure, resilient, and scalable architectures that align with enterprise objectives. All architects are expected to embedsecurity‐by‐design principles into their work, regardless of primary focus.As part of our team, you will:lead the design and enablement of enterprise IT architecture solutions, with a strong focus on networking, security, and core infrastructure servicessupport multi‐ministry initiatives by developing smart, scalable, and secure architecture strategiesprovide architecture leadership within your primary domain, including the development of reference architectures, architecture standards, and roadmaps that guide technology evolution and inform practical design decisionsevaluate technologies and architectures (e.G., new connectivity models, modern security access services)be accountable for architectural outcomes and actively support successful execution through close collaboration with service providers and key stakeholderstranslate business, security, and operational requirements into robust, scalable, and secure network architecturesreview, provide architectural input on,
and guide service provider designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and risk tolerancedevelop integration designs across multiple service providers and platformssupport critical implementation and change activities for complex or high‐impact initiativesWhat you bring to the teamTechnical knowledge and experienceknowledge of architecture frameworks, particularly within infrastructure and/or network security domainsdemonstrated engineering design experience delivering large‐scale enterprise implementations involving SD-WAN, enterprise routing, and Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) technologiesknowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: Security Service Edge (SSE), network segmentation, and wireless‐first campus network architecturesproven depth in one or more enterprise networking or network security domains, paired with the willingness and capability to contribute across related domains and continuously build new expertiseability to assess architectural risk and thoughtfully balance security, resiliency, operability, and user experienceexperience producing, reviewing, and validating architecture artefacts such as reference architectures, solution designs, and integration patternsfamiliarity with industry standards, performance management practices, change management processes, and service delivery modelsAnalytical and strategic thinkingable to design architecture solutions for complex, long‐term initiativesskilled at solving integration challenges and navigating unclear or evolving requirementsable to research, evaluate, and recommend innovative architecture strategiescomfortable developing performance measures and adapting tonew technologiesCommunication skillsconfident in presenting architectural strategies and recommendations to senior executivesable to explain complex technical concepts in explicit,
