Agilus is recruiting for a Process Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry in Redwater, Alberta.

We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting refinery operations. In this role, you’ll optimize production, troubleshoot processes, and collaborate across departments to ensure secure, efficient, and profitable operations. This is a maternity leave coverage position starting January 6th.

Responsibilities

- Monitor and optimize assigned process units for safe operations
- Collaborate with operators and engineers to implement strategies
- Conduct root‑cause investigations and follow‑up actions




- Execute MOC processes and participate in risk reviews (HAZOP, SIL)
- Prepare scopes for turnarounds and review operating procedures
- Perform process calculations and simulations for troubleshooting
- Liaise with HSE team to ensure compliance with regulatory limits

Requirements

- Chemical Engineering degree with eligibility for P.Eng. in Alberta
- Minimum 5 years of experience in refinery, upgrader, or petrochemical operations
- Knowledge of hydroprocessing, gasification, distillation, hydrogen production
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to support projects and influence small teams
- Experience with process simulation tools (Pro‑II, ProMax, HTRI)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and plant engineering support
- Willingness to work occasional after‑hours during operational upsets
