NTT DATA's Client is currently seeking a Senior Vantage Mainframe Developer to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA).

Job Description

Perform system and requirement analysis for life and Annuity insurance product development

Define application design strategies aligned with business and technical requirements

Prepare technical design documents and develop functionalities to meet the product requirements

Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, VSAM, JCL, DB2, CICS, Web Services in Mainframe and Microfocus technologies

Utilize enterprise systems and tools to support development, testing, and deployment activities

Support system and application testing activities for mission-critical business applications

Assist in validating system enhancements to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements

Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities

Ensure system functionality and stability during enhancements and rollouts

Identify and analyze issues during testing and implementation phases

Collaborate with development and testing teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects

Support defect tracking and resolution processes to ensure timely fixes

Conduct code and design reviews to ensure compliance with project guidelines and specifications

Contribute to continuous improvement of development and testing processes

Coordinate daily with offshore teams to communicate requirements and project updates

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and system functionality

Work effectively within onsite-offshore delivery models across global teams





Assist in production deployments and post-release validation

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of Vantage with life/annuity product development and enhancements

Minimum 5+ years development experience using COBOL, JCL, DB2 in Mainframe and Microfocus

Travel: This position requires someone who works in NTT Office location Halifax, Novascotia

Degree: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
