Our Mobile OutreachDepartment is looking for a dedicated Outreach Worker II to join the team. Position Responsibilities

The Outreach Workeris on the front lines dealing with matters related to addiction, mental health,homelessness, public intoxication, and social disorder. The Outreach Workerwill assist businesses and residents in their handling of community concerns relatedto the street-engaged population. This may include but is not limited totrespassing, loitering, disturbances, public intoxication, and needledebris. With a focus onclient engagement, you will conduct field-based assessments to determine theclient's vulnerability and risk factors. Following the assessment, you willattempt to provide immediate support for a client's basic needs and navigationthrough local service systems such as emergency shelters, health care,addiction treatment, and housing. If necessary, the client will either beprovided necessities or taken to a protected space or health facility to address thedanger or health issue they are facing. You will perform other departmentalduties as directed by the Mobile Outreach Manager or their designate. Qualifications

RequiredQualifications: High School Diploma Clear CriminalRecord Check with Vulnerable Sector Check Valid AlbertaDrivers License – Class 5 (or equivalent)



no more than 6 demerits Driver abstract Excellentcommunication skills – orally and written Advanced conflictresolution skills Experience dealingwith the vulnerable population PreferredQualifications: Ability tointerpret/apply policy & procedure Strong interviewingand assessment skills Knowledge ofcomputers and related applications is desirable Desirable trainingand certifications include Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training(ASIST), De-escalation Training, Standard First Aid/CPR, Mental Health FirstAid, Naloxone Training, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Ics 100, Ics 200, andVerbal Judo Hours

The standardworkweek consists of an average of 40 hours, with the specific schedule beingdetermined by theimmediate supervisor. Compensation

Salary of $34.70 perthe CUPE Collective Agreement.
