Join School District No. 91 as a Casual Indigenous Education Advocate to offer essential support to Indigenous students in the Vanderhoof area. This role emphasizes both cultural pride and academic success.
As a Casual Indigenous Education Advocate, you will work with Indigenous students to address their academic, emotional, and cultural needs. This role involves collaboration with educators and communication with families. You must embody Indigenous values and advocate for student success through teamwork and cultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide language and cultural support to students
• Promote Indigenous pride and positive role modeling
• Collaborate with educational staff for student development




• Engage families to foster successful student outcomes
• Manage administrative reports as required
Requirements:
• Grade 12 diploma (Dogwood Certificate)
• Two years of post-secondary studies related to Indigenous support
• At least 6 months experience working with Indigenous students
• Knowledge of local Indigenous communities and band offices
• Must have a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
Become a guiding presence for Indigenous youth in their educational journey while fostering their cultural identities.
