The candidate would ideally have client liaison experience and be proficient in preparing technical memos and reports.The successful candidate’s duties will include participating in undertaking dam safety reviews, annualdam safety inspections, dam breach, inundation and consequenceclassification assessments, preparation of dam emergency plans,preparation of design of appurtenant hydraulic structures, and hydrology and numerical flow modelling. Travel throughout British Columbia and Yukon may be required in this position.DMC ’s Infrastructure Group supports a wide range of projects, including linear infrastructure development, commercial and industrial structures, natural hazard mitigation, dam engineering, and marine facilities. Our clients include provincial agencies, municipalities, utilities, FirstNation communities, architects, developers, and contractors throughoutBC.
We take pride in delivering work that’s grounded, reliable, andbuilt to stand the test of time which is the engineering equivalent of a clean beat.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil or Water Resource Engineering (minimum)Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experienceKnowledge of Canadian Dam Safety Guidelines, Associated Technical Bulletins, and the BC Dam Safety RegulationsKnowledge of standard computer hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software packages such as RMC-BestFit, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, FLO-2DRegistered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in BCStrong technical writing, communication, and project coordination skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervisionPrevious project management experienceProficient with Microsoft Office applicationsValid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent)
