Dr. Julie Hallet at Sunnybrook Research Institute is seeking a temporary, full-time postdoctoral fellow for a one-year research fellowship. This fellowship is an advanced academic training opportunity designed to support the professional development of an emerging clinician-scientist in clinical and health services research.The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary research program focused on surgical oncology, health services research, and patient-centered outcomes. Working under the supervision of Dr. Hallet, the postdoctoral fellow will participate in ongoing research projects while receiving mentorship in research methodology, scientific writing, knowledge translation, and academic career development. The fellowship provides an chance to develop advanced research skills while gaining experience within the Canadian healthcare and academic research environment.The primary purpose of the fellowship is educational and training-focused, providing structured mentorship and opportunities to develop research competencies that support future academic and clinical careers.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in ongoing clinical and health services research projects in surgical oncologyConduct literature reviews to support study development and evidence synthesisContribute to study design, protocol development, and research planningAssist with data collection, management,
and quality assurance activitiesParticipate in statistical analysis and interpretation of research findingsPrepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publicationDevelop conference abstracts and presentationsParticipate in multidisciplinary research meetings and academic discussionsEngage in mentorship and training activities related to research methodology, scientific writing, and knowledge translationCollaborate with investigators, clinicians, and research staff on scholarly projectsObserve relevant clinical activities, where appropriate, to enhance understanding of the Canadian healthcare and research environmentSkills and QualificationsMD, postgraduate medical training, or equivalent clinical qualification with an interest in pursuing an academic career in clinical researchDemonstrated interest in surgical oncology, health services research, clinical epidemiology, or outcomes researchStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with literature reviews, research methodology, or scientific writing is considered an assetAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research teamAbility to work independently while managing multiple research activities and timelinesCommitment to professional development and academic scholarshipSunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is committed to providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
