We are seeking Assistant Ice Technicians for the Lindsay Curling Club to join our team . The ideal candidates will assist in the daily maintenance of the ice, constantly monitoring ice conditions and perform some simple repair of equipment, ensuring smooth operations within our facility.
Duties:
Assist in preparing the ice surface for play, including scraping the ice, pebbling, nipping and mopping the surface, clearing it of snow and other debris
Conduct routine maintenance tasks like vacuuming, mopping, removing garbages and cleaning any other surface areas in the ice shed
Support senior technicians in diagnosing problems
Perform equipment installations and upgrades
Document maintenance and repair activities
Ensure compliance with safety regulations
Qualifications:
Experience with curling or making curling ice is a huge advantage, but candidates who are interested in learning new skills and are interested in the sport of curling will be considered
basic knowledge of the sport of curling is an asset
any certification through the OCA, Curling Canada or the World Curling Federation is preferred (but not necessary)
Please note that this is a seasonal job, running from September to April
