Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and take detailed medical histories to identify any contraindications for wet cupping therapy.
Administer Hijama (wet cupping) and dry cupping treatments safely, effectively, and professionally according to individualized patient care plans.
Follow Sunnah points
Strictly enforce and adhere to all provincial health and safety standards for sterilization, hygiene, and infection control, including the proper handling and disposal of biohazardous waste and sharps.
Educate patients on the physiological benefits of cupping therapy, required pre-treatment preparation, and essential post-treatment aftercare.
Maintain precise, confidential, and up-to-date patient records and treatment notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with the clinic’s multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and comprehensive patient care.
Remain current with emerging research, clinical techniques, and regulatory updates related to cupping therapy and infection control.
Qualifications
Active Registration:
Must be currently registered and in good standing with a recognized Ontario Health Regulatory College whose legal scope of practice includes the controlled act of piercing the dermis (e.g., College of Naturopaths of Ontario, College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario, or College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario). Note: Or working under the direct, documented delegation of an on-site physician.
Specialized Certification: Verifiable training and certification in Hijama / Wet Cupping therapy from a recognized educational institution.
Infection Control: Valid certification in Blood-Borne Pathogens and advanced infection control protocols.
Insurance: Active and valid skilled liability/malpractice insurance covering wet cupping procedures.
Emergency Care: Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
Clinical Knowledge: Solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and contraindications related to bloodletting.
Technical Skills: Excellent fine motor skills, a steady hand, and meticulous attention to detail regarding procedural hygiene.
Pay: $80.00 per hour
