About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Materials Manager to oversee all aspects of material planning, procurement, inventory control, and logistics for our modular manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure that materials and components are available to meet production schedules, while optimizing costs, reducing waste, and maintaining a smooth and effective workflow throughout the plant.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the materials and purchasing team to ensure timely availability of all materials required for production.
Develop and maintain efficient systems for material planning, scheduling, and tracking.
Oversee procurement of consumables, raw materials, and components for modular builds.
Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Work closely with production, engineering, and project management teams to forecast material requirements and prevent shortages or overstocking.
Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure cost-effective and reliable supply sources.
Analyze material usage trends and develop strategies to reduce waste and improve inventory turnover.




Oversee cycle counts and annual physical inventories, investigating and reconciling discrepancies.
Ensure adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards within the materials department.
Provide regular reporting on material performance, cost savings, and process improvements.

Qualifications
5+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or purchasing — preferably in a manufacturing or modular construction environment.
Solid leadership skills with experience managing a team.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a rapid-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (C.P.P. or equivalent designation considered an asset).
