CRM Group is accepting resumes for Archaeological Technicians for the fall 2026 season. Field Technicians will primarily participate in shovel test pitting, but further prospects may be available. This position will start in as early as August 24th, 2026 and extend until the end of October 2026.

Responsibilities
Complete archaeological fieldwork following requirements of the current Archaeological Resource Impact Assessment (Category C) Guidelines and the Standards for Archaeological Impact Assessment and Reporting in Debert and Belmont, Nova Scotia.
Support Field Directors and provide assistance where needed

Requirements
Actively participate in archaeological fieldwork including shovel test pitting.
Perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks (e.g., hand shoveling, screening soil, moving buckets of dirt) lifting 10 to 20 kilograms.
Take direction from Field Directors and Project Managers.
Excellent work ethic and team-player attitude.
Extensive outdoor work,



requiring the ability to walk and stand on varied terrains for prolonged periods of time.
Flexibility and openness to new experiences are essential.
Experience in archaeology and archaeological field methods and ability to identify artifacts in the field is preferred, but not required
Solid attention to detail, with proven ability to follow specific instructions

Work Experience
Diploma or degree (in progress or completed) in Anthropology or Archaeology is preferred but not required
Previous fieldwork experience of any kind is an asset

Salary
$25 per hour

Per Diem-when overnight stays are required

*This position is specifically for one project, it is possible that the project may conclude prior to the end of October, at which point the position would end, unless communicated otherwise.
