We are seeking an experienced, safety-oriented, and highly communicative Working Foreman / Heavy Equipment Operator to lead our field operations. In this role, you will be on the ground alongside our small, tight-knit crew, splitting your time between hands-on machinery operation and crew supervision.
Job Responsibilities
Hands-on Operation: Safely and skillfully operate heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, and mulching attachments as your primary daily task.
Crew Supervision: Lead, motivate, and coordinate our close-knit field crew, fostering solid daily communication and teamwork.
Site Preparation: Oversee and execute timber felling, slash/debris disposal, stump removal, grading, trenching, and rough utility excavation.
Safety & Compliance: Lead daily tailgate safety meetings, enforce site-specific regulations, and maintain open lines for safety feedback.
Project Execution: Read blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes to layout work accurately and track daily production milestones.
Maintenance & Logistics: Coordinate equipment servicing, fuel tracking, material deliveries, and accurate crew time-tracking.
Qualifications & Cultural Fit
Technical Skills:
Expert proficiency in operating heavy excavators in rough terrain; ability to read civil drawings, grade lines, and blueprints.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal communication to clearly delegate tasks, sync with project managers, and resolve issues constructively.
Team-First Attitude: A natural team player who leads by example, supports crew members, and helps maintain a positive workplace morale.
The Right Fit: A reliable, down-to-earth qualified who thrives in a cooperative, small-team environment where every role matters.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years working in a supervisory or foreman role within logging, forestry, land clearing, or heavy civil excavation.
Certifications: Valid driver’s license with clean abstract; valid safety tickets (First Aid, OHS supervisor training, or equivalent preferred).
Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors in remote areas and diverse weather conditions.
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
