Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various cutting machinery, ensuring exact fabrication, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Duties
Operate band saws and other cutting equipment to cut metal materials to specified lengths
Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and cut lists
Measure and mark materials accurately prior to cutting
Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality cuts
Load and unload materials safely using forklifts, cranes, or manual handling
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Communicate with welders and shop supervisors regarding material requirements
Follow all shop safety procedures and wear required PPE
Requirements
Previous experience operating band saws or metal cutting equipment preferred
Experience in a welding or metal fabrication shop is considered an asset
Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares
Basic ability to read fabrication drawings or cut lists
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
Job Types: Full time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
