The Role and Candidate:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the scope of this position involves all aspects of plant labour in a food production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and troubleshoot the automated equipment used in the ice cream manufacturing
Set up and operate filling and packaging equipment
Maintain safe, productive operations while producing safe and high-quality products
Accurately follow prescribed procedures ensuring efficient and quality output
Complete and document GMPs and HACCP related items pertaining to equipment and environmental cleaning
Communicate any food safety issues to the Management team
Record detailed production reports
Provide relief coverage for other operators/plant helpers as required
Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided and accurate record keeping
Other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications & Competencies:
Minimum high school diploma and/or relevant food processing experience
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including excellent sanitary habits and possess knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Forklift licence would be an asset
Positive communication skills, including written and verbal
Ability to be adaptable in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
Ability to work in a team environment
Physically capable of performing the demands of the job and ability to multi-task
Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting ability
Physical Demands:
Standing and walking for extended length of time and frequent lifting of materials to a maximum weight of 25 kg.

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
