Join Family Services of Greater Vancouver as a Shift Counsellor focused on trauma-informed care. Support individuals through therapeutic counselling to prevent radicalization and enhance community connection.
In this position, you will manage a caseload while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. A solid emphasis on individualized assessments and culturally competent practices is vital. Your role will contribute to creating secure and impactful interventions for at-risk participants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough assessments and create tailored safety plans
• Provide therapeutic counselling using evidence-based frameworks
• Lead case coordination including interdisciplinary discussions
• Engage culturally with participants while applying anti-oppressive practices
• Maintain accurate documentation of all services provided
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Counselling or Social Work)
• Minimum of three years in counselling traumatized individuals
• Training in somatic therapies and expressive arts
• Experience with crisis management and cooperative planning
• Deep understanding of neurobiology related to trauma
