Clinical Dietitian and Food Service Manager – Healthcare role in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is a dual role that includes managing clinical nutrition services for acute care, long term care and outpatient services and overseeing meal service for 28 patients.
Aramark is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to manage clinical nutrition services and to supervise and coordinate food services in the facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains policies, standards, and programs for the provision of optimal, cost-effective nutrition care to patients/residents. This includes coordinating and directing all clinical activities and determining and implementing appropriate staffing levels for food services.
- Develops goals and objectives for clinical nutrition and food services to maintain high quality care.
- Utilizes equipment, resources, and programs to provide efficient and high-quality care.
- Assists in the performance planning process for Dietitians and Dietetic Interns and interviews, selects and trains employees within the Food and Nutrition Services.
- Participates in the budget process.
- Recognizes and addresses the specific needs of the patient/resident population and demonstrates knowledge of issues related to age of the population.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other facility departments to provide a unified approach to patient/resident care.
- Aligns department goals with client annual goals and visions to provide optimal nutrition care.
- Develops, implements and documents in-service education programs for Registered Dietitians, Dietetic Interns and other nutrition personnel to provide continuing education and training.
- Encourages staff participation in research and career development activities, including submissions to professional publications and community lectures.
- Establishes and maintains systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Clinical Dietitian, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting.
- 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with coursework accredited or approved by the appropriate nutrition and dietetics agencies.
- Earn and maintain applicable certifications, registrations, licenses, credentials, and continuing education requirements by the appropriate accredited local agencies.
- Must be an active member of the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Dietitians or transfer a current membership to the province.
Conditions of employment may include working in busy hospital and outpatient settings, from patient rooms/floors to kitchen/serving areas.
