Join Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre as a Crisis Intervention Housing Worker in Toronto. Provide in office support to residents through individualized crisis intervention and housing stabilization strategies.
This role, based at 1011 Lansdowne Avenue, focuses on assisting tenants with complex challenges, such as mental health and substance use issues. You will engage with residents to facilitate life skills training and advocate for essential community services. Candidates need to demonstrate compassion and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete intake assessments and document client needs
• Deliver in office case management using harm reduction
• Conduct regular visits to ensure housing stability
• Offer crisis intervention and system navigation
• Build positive relationships with landlords for housing retention
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in social work or a related field
• 2 years of experience with vulnerable populations
• Training in de-escalation techniques
• Familiarity with community resources in Toronto
• Solid organizational and communication skills
