Bearspaw Lodge seeks a dedicated Youth Support Worker to provide essential care for male youth dealing with complex mental health issues in St. Albert, Alberta. Engage in direct support and trauma-informed practices to facilitate youth stability and accountability.
In this part time role, you will be actively involved in helping youth navigate their challenges, from mental health disorders to substance abuse. Your expertise in de-escalation and collaboration with medical and judicial systems is vital. Help ensure that youth develop positive coping strategies while respecting their cultural backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver trauma-informed supervision and care • Craft and implement tailored support and behavioral strategies • Assist with personal care and meal preparations • Recognize and operate under high-stress situations • Advocate for youth’s access to community resources
Requirements: • 2+ years of experience in youth facilities • Experience in mental health and addiction interventions • Understanding of Indigenous history and cultures • Required certifications in first aid and clear criminal background • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and personal vehicle
