Become a Youth Outreach Worker with Pacific Community Resources Society to support at-risk youth across Surrey, BC. Your work will involve engaging with individuals in need and connecting them to resources and services.
In this full-time role, you'll be part of the Inter-Regional At-Risk Youth Link program, providing outreach services at multiple SkyTrain hubs. The position requires a positive understanding of the challenges faced by at-risk youth and the ability to build relationships in community settings. Experience in youth support and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Connect with youth through targeted street outreach
• Offer access to pro-social activities and community resources
• Distribute supplies such as hygiene products and harm reduction items
• Educate on substance use and provide naloxone training
• Engage with community stakeholders and present program details
Requirements:
• 2-year Diploma in Child and Youth Care or similar
• Minimum 2 years working with at-risk youth
• Experience with diverse youth backgrounds preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities
