In this full time, limited-term position, you will work to reduce health inequities between Lnu’k and non-Lnu’k individuals in Nova Scotia. Collaborating with local communities, you'll engage Elders, promote Mi’kmaq cultural competencies, and enhance health capacity. Identify and lead initiatives that foster health promotion and innovate community health strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage and consult with Elders and community members • Build relationships within L’nu communities for health initiatives • Promote recruitment of Mi’kmaw students in health fields • Collaborate closely with MINES on health programs • Report annually on initiative progress
Requirements: • Of L’nu descent or robust community ties • Minimum undergraduate degree in Health Science or related field • Demonstrated health expertise and cultural competency • Robust communication skills and leadership abilities • Experience with health research networks or communities of practice
