Become a part of the University of Waterloo’s Faculty of Engineering as an Electrical Engineering Laboratory Specialist. This full time position combines teaching and hardware management to foster student success in the lab.
As a Laboratory Instructor and Hardware Specialist, you will oversee undergraduate lab courses aimed at enhancing practical learning. You will develop lab curricula in collaboration with faculty, assess student progress, and ensure the proper functioning of lab equipment.
You'll also mentor teaching assistants and ensure a safe setting for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruct undergraduate laboratory courses and assess academic performance
Collaborate on lab course development and material preparation
Mentor and supervise teaching assistants effectively
Monitor the condition and safety of laboratory equipment
Evaluate student projects and presentations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Five years of relevant lab experience
Proficiency in hardware design and lab equipment
Previous teaching experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
