Transform urban sustainability as an Energy Engineer with the City of Markham, focusing on energy management and greenhouse gas reduction. Help lead initiatives to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
In this crucial role, you'll work in the Sustainability and Asset Management department, reporting to the Manager, Facility Capital Planning. You'll be responsible for corporate energy management planning, utility usage analysis, and greenhouse gas tracking.
Your efforts will support the city's commitment to sustainable growth and a vibrant community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Corporate Energy Management Plan development
- Establish corporate energy reduction targets
- Develop metering systems for energy tracking
- Analyze utility consumption and emissions data
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and secure grants
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 5-7 years of energy management experience
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and utility reporting
- Certified Measurement and Verification Skilled preferred
- Valid Ontario “G” driver's license required
