Take on a pivotal role as a Community Development Worker with Pinecrest-Queensway in Ottawa. This part time position emphasizes direct community involvement and supports those in need.
Join us on a temporary contract for 28 hours per week, focusing on outreach activities and program facilitation. Your role will include engaging community members to identify needs and create supportive environments. With strong facilitation skills, you will help deliver workshops and develop leadership skills among participants.
Key Responsibilities: • Execute outreach to assess community needs • Foster ongoing engagement and capacity-building activities • Implement conflict prevention strategies as needed • Document evaluations for various programs and services • Assist with training for volunteers and students
Requirements: • Degree or diploma; health or social services preferred • Proven ability in group facilitation and planning • Experience working with vulnerable populations • CPR and First Aid certification within first 3 months • Fluent in English, other languages an asset
