We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join a dynamic finance team supporting financial reporting, regulatory accounting, and corporate financial operations. This role is ideal for a Canadian CPA with strong expertise in IFRS reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, and month-end/quarter-end close processes.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial reporting, support regulatory requirements, improve financial processes, and provide valuable insights that help drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review quarterly financial statement note disclosures.
- Prepare routine and complex journal entries and account reconciliations during month-end and quarter-end close.
- Support consolidated financial reporting and ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
- Provide financial analysis and operational support for regulatory reporting and internal management reporting.
- Implement and maintain accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control processes.
- Support external audit activities by providing required documentation and analysis.
- Analyze financial results, identify key business drivers, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Monitor emerging IFRS standards and assist with implementation of new accounting and disclosure requirements.




- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation and process enhancements.
- Assess, monitor, and strengthen internal controls and risk management practices.
- Lead cross-functional meetings and collaborate with business partners to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate accounting, or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS financial reporting and accounting standards.
- Experience with month-end and quarter-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience within a regulated industry, such as utilities or energy.
- Knowledge of regulatory accounting and MIFRS.
- Experience supporting external audits and internal control frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement and financial reporting automation initiatives.
