We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Forklift Operator to join our client’s dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to load, unload, move, and organize materials within the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have robust warehouse experience and a commitment to following safety procedures while contributing to an efficient and productive work environment.
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour
Hours:
Afternoon Shift - 3:00pm - 11:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Night Shift- 11:00pm - 7:30am (Monday to Friday)
What You'll Do:
- Operate counterbalance and Raymond Reach forklifts safely and efficiently to move raw materials, finished products, packaging, and other inventory.
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring products are handled safely and accurately.
- Transport and stage materials throughout the production, warehouse, freezer, and shipping areas.
- Pick and replenish inventory according to production and shipping requirements.
- Store products and materials in designated locations while maintaining proper inventory organization.
- Work safely in freezer and temperature-controlled environments while following all required PPE and safety procedures.
- Inspect forklift equipment before each shift and report any mechanical or safety concerns immediately.
- Verify product quantities, labels, lot numbers, and other information to ensure accuracy.
- Complete required paperwork,
inventory records, shipping/receiving documentation, and forklift inspection forms.
- Identify and report damaged products, packaging issues, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow food safety, GMP, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure materials are stored safely.
- Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, shipping, and management teams to coordinate material movement.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and accuracy expectations.
- Support production and warehouse operations as required, including working days, afternoons, nights, and weekends based on business needs.
- Valid Counter Balance & Raymond Reach License
- RF scanning experience
- Ability to work in freezer workplace
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Proven ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and safe lifting practices
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and report equipment issues
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this
position
