Position Information:

- Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO);
- Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent, preferred;
- A minimum of five (5) years of significant technical experience and general knowledge in all areas of Histology and relevant areas of Laboratory Medicine including grossing, microtomy, embedding, immunohistochemistry and general histology duties preferred.
- Previous experience with supervisory responsibilities, preferred;
- Experience with Histology including implementation and daily operations, preferred;
- Knowledge of Institute of Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) and ensuring compliance;
- Proven ability to analyze and evaluate laboratory test results;
- Proven ability to evaluate and monitor processes, inventory and incidents to effectively provide quality improvement tools and methods to use within the facility;
- Advanced computer skills and aptitude are an asset; Microsoft Office applications and specialized laboratory programs (e.g. Cerner and Omni);
- Working knowledge of Leadership principles and practices; Demonstrates leadership skills that promote staff integration and multidisciplinary team functioning;
- Effective organizational and team building skills;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrates ability to manage people and effectively communicate with all team members/levels of the organization;
- Ability to solve problems of an analytical, technical, procedural or process nature; Demonstrates excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills




- Proven experience in training/teaching current staff and/or new equipment;
- Proven good attendance with capabilities of maintaining this same standard.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations preferred.
- Satisfactory vulnerable person’s sector criminal background check.
- Commitment to Patient Care & Safety and Service Excellence

Salary Range: $46.00-$57.99/hour
