Title Diabetes Education Dietitian Division Integrated Indigenous Health and Specialized Community Services Affiliation Public Service Alliance of Canada Site Hybrid Reports to Manager of Diabetes & Clinical Nutrition Status Permanent Full‑time Sign-on Bonus Eligible for WAHA Sign‑on Bonus (up to $15,000) Position Overview The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) seeks an experienced Diabetes Education Dietitian to work within a multidisciplinary team in remote communities, providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients across all life stages. What You’ll Do - Conduct qualified nutritional assessments, evaluations, and counseling for diabetes management.

- Deliver education through one‑on‑one consultations, group sessions, and community‑based presentations in person and via virtual settings (telephone, OTN, video conferencing).
- Provide diabetes education to individuals at risk, those with pre‑diabetes, established diabetes, pediatric diabetes, and gestational diabetes.
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings as an Allied Health member.
- Lead presentations and workshops focused on nutrition—including prevention strategies and cooking demonstrations.

What You

Bring - Accredited 4‑year degree (or equivalent) with courses in sciences, human nutrition, administration,



and humanities.

- Completion of Dietetic Internship or equivalent supervised practical training.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination.
- Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario (or eligible for membership).
- Certified Diabetes Educator (willingness to obtain certification within a prescribed timeframe).
- Membership in the Diabetes Educator Section of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
- Ability to communicate in local native Cree language is an asset.
