Director, Payroll Salary: $150,000 + 15% Bonus Job Type: Permanent Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a strategic Director, Payroll to lead the delivery, transformation, and continuous improvement of payroll operations across a large, complex organization. This newly created leadership role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who has successfully led payroll functions within a large, multi-site, unionized setting. You'll provide strategic direction while overseeing payroll operations, driving process improvements, and leading a high-performing team through growth and transformation.

Lead the organization's payroll strategy, operations, and governance across multiple provinces. Oversee complex, full-cycle payroll operations for unionized and non-unionized employees. Drive payroll transformation, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, collective agreements, and internal controls. Partner with HR, Finance, Operations, and Labour Relations to support business objectives.

Leverage

Workday and other technologies to enhance payroll processes, reporting, and operational efficiency. Monitor payroll metrics and KPIs to drive performance and improve service delivery. Lead, mentor,



and develop a high-performing payroll team while fostering a collaborative and service-focused culture. 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership responsibilities. ~ Proven experience leading payroll operations within a large, complex, multi-site organization. ~ Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, compliance, and payroll governance. ~ Experience supporting unionized environments and understanding the impact of collective bargaining agreements on payroll. ~ Experience leading payroll transformation, process improvement, and change management initiatives. ~ Experience with Workday Payroll is considered a strong asset. ~ PCP or PLP designation is considered an asset.
