Join the Manitoba government as a 3rd Class Power Engineer at the Manitoba Developmental Centre in Portage la Prairie. Your mechanical aptitude will shine while ensuring safe operation of a high-pressure steam plant. In this role, you will manage the operation and maintenance of a 2nd Class High-Pressure Steam Plant.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you’ll address alarms, emergencies, and perform essential preventative maintenance on equipment. This position offers excellent benefits, including a pension and comprehensive health coverage. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the high-pressure steam plant safely
- Respond to alarms and client service requests
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment
- Repair and troubleshoot ancillary systems
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures Requirements:
- Valid 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate
- Experience with high-pressure steam plant operation
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation
- Solid communication and teamwork capabilities
