Power Engineer 4th Class

Sofina Foods Inc. is looking for a 4th Class Power Engineer to join our team. This is a unionized position. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting plant equipment, operating automated and computerized control systems, and supporting the safe and efficient operation of our facility. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, comfortable working independently, and able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Duties

- Monitor, inspect, and operate plant equipment and automated/computerized control systems.
- Monitor and support ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Complete maintenance and other projects as required.
- Follow HACCP requirements associated with the position.
- Follow all safe work practices, procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
- Work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Perform duties that may require climbing ladders and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Work in refrigerated environments as required.
- Maintain quality workmanship while meeting required production and operational timelines.




- Plan and organize work effectively to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Work overtime as required.

Qualifications

- Valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certification is required.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Experience operating automated or computerized control systems is an asset.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and safety regulations.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Conscientious and punctual with a strong attendance record.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the position, including climbing ladders and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
