I handle both temporary and permanent recruitment in the Greater Montreal area.Mission Position SummaryReporting to the Human Resources Director, the Payroll Master is the reference person for all payroll activities within the organization. He or she assumes primary responsibility for producing payroll for all divisions (Quebec, Ontario, and New Brunswick), ensures legal and regulatory compliance, and supervises the payroll and HR technician.This role is intended for a recognized expert in the field, capable of evolving processes, guiding a team, and serving as the main point of contact with payroll system providers.Main ResponsibilitiesPayroll - Primary ResponsibilityAssume full responsibility for producing payroll cycles for all divisions and entities of the organization (multi-site, multi-province)Validate, approve, and submit payroll in the Employer D (Desjardins) and/or Agendrix systems, ensuring accuracy and timely processingSupervise the processing of variable elements: overtime, bonuses, vacation, leaves, taxable benefits, and source deductionsManage Records of Employment (ROE), government remittances (DAS, CNESST, WSIB, etc.), and year-end obligations (T4, RL-1)Act as the reference expert in payroll matters for HR, finance, and operations teamsEnsure regulatory monitoring and application of current labor standards (QC, ON, NB)Team Supervision and DevelopmentSupervise and support the payroll and HR technician on a daily basisEnsure training, knowledge transfer, and professional development of the team memberAllocate tasks, set priorities, and ensure continuity of operations in case of absenceSystems, Controls,
and Continuous ImprovementLead the configuration, updating, and optimization of payroll systems (Employer D, Agendrix)Develop and maintain robust internal controls to ensure payroll data integrityIdentify automation and process improvement opportunities; lead their implementationContribute to system integration projects during acquisitions or organizational changesHuman Resources - SupportEnsure the updating of employee files related to HR events (hirings, status changes, departures)Respond to complex employee and manager inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and policiesSupport the HR team in cross-functional projects (practice harmonization, compliance, acquisitions)Your profile Profil recherchéFormation et expérienceCollege diploma (DEC) in accounting, administration or HR techniques, or a bachelor's degree in a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing, including at least 2 years in a senior or coordination roleMandatory experience in a multi‐provincial environment (QC / ON / NB)Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or equivalent, a strong assetCompétences techniquesAdvanced mastery of Employer D (Desjardins) and/or Nethris systems - essential requirementIn‐depth knowledge of time management systems (Agendrix or equivalent), an assetExcellent command of labor standards and payroll regulations in Quebec, Ontario, and Recent BrunswickGood knowledge of year‐end fiscal processes (T4, RL‐1, government reports)Aptitudes et qualitésNatural leadership, ability to guide and develop a teamImpeccable rigor, strong attention to detail, and proactive risk managementExcellent judgment when facing complex or ambiguous situationsAbility to manage priorities and maintain payroll cycle cadence in a growing environmentAbsolute discretion and robust sense of confidentialityBilingual French/English (spoken and written), required due to interprovincial interactionsRecruitment Process: Initial interview with Bianka Zacard, Recruitment Team Leader, followed by an interview with the HR Director.To apply: www.Fedfinance.CaTo contact me: (438) 499-0311
