The Support Worker will assist clients in their daily activities at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center:

- Assist clients in maintaining their on-site appointments.
- Providing support outside of therapy sessions to help clients stay engaged in their recovery process.
- Develop and maintain positive, supportive relationships with clients.
- Promote independence and self-sufficiency by encouraging participation in program activities such as group activities, recreation, crafts, and on-site workshops.
- Assist with administering client medications according to prescribed guidelines, ensuring secure practices and attentive care.
- Collaborate in the planning and facilitation of events that contribute to the client's recovery and personal well-being.
- Facilitate smooth transitions for client intake and outtake, maintaining professional and compassionate communication during these times.

The Support Worker’s responsibilities will also include:

- Accompany clients on therapeutic outings, providing emotional support and assisting in the application of therapeutic techniques outside the facility.
- Support clients in their shopping needs,



ensuring they have access to the necessary resources for daily living while promoting their autonomy.
- Manage client valuables and money responsibly, ensuring trust and accountability.
- Transport clients to appointments, outings, and therapeutic activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Complete detailed reports documenting client behaviour, progress, and updates.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of center policies and procedures, ensuring best practices and consistency in service delivery, and adhering to these guidelines to ensure the highest level of care for clients.

Preferred education / experience

- Diploma/Certificate
- Experience working with vulnerable persons
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check-Vulnerable Sector Check

Required licenses or certifications:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must have a valid driver's license

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
