Underground Electrical Engineer | Colonsay, SK
The Mosaic Company, a global leader in phosphate and potash production, is seeking an Underground Electrical Engineer to support safe, reliable, and efficient underground mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead underground electrical capital projects from planning through installation.
- Provide electrical engineering, automation, controls, and communications support.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for electrical infrastructure from 600V to 13.8kV, including protection and control systems.
- Coordinate power system studies and maintain system models.
- Identify reliability improvement opportunities through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, PM/PdM optimization, and asset management initiatives.
- Support maintenance planning, audits, inspections, permitting, lockout/tagout procedures, and contractor oversight.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to improve asset performance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGS.
- Engineer III: 4+ years of related experience.
- Senior Engineer: 8+ years of related experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Knowledge of power systems, high-voltage equipment, protection and coordination, reliability practices, and industrial control systems.
- Experience with PLCs, DCS/DeltaV, SCADA, CMMS, and power system modeling software is preferred.
- Underground mining, instrumentation, project management, and reliability certification experience are assets.
